We're in Seattle!!!

Recently, we took a short trip, with Dillon's parents Carol and George, up to Seattle for a family friend's wedding! We packed a lot in while we were there! Arriving on Wednesday was a pain because when we landed, SEA-TAC didn't have any gates for our Delta flight to taxi into. After about an hour and a half of waiting on the plane, which wasn't all that bad (did somebody say snacks and beer?) we got our luggage and headed into the city. After checking into the Sheraton Seattle and getting dinner and margaritas at this cool little rooftop Mexican joint, it was time for bed.

Thursday, we met up with some friends from the wedding party and walked around the famous Pike's Place Market! We saw all the shops, had some lunch, and enjoyed our company! Later in the evening, Carol's best friend Kate and her husband Ralph met up with us for dinner and beers. We went to a place call the Tap Room! It was a super cool bar, and it had over 150 draft beers!!! ... If only we could have tried them all...

Friday, we all walked down to the waterfront and along the piers. We enjoyed a very yummy lunch at Ivar's Fish Bar with some of their delicious and world famous Clam Chowder! (They even served it in the Delta Sky Club at SEA-TAC). After lunch, we walked around the water front and fed some seagulls, well George and I fed the seagulls. We headed back to the hotel to get ready for the party Gabi and Conor (the bride and groom) were throwing for everyone invited to the wedding. They live in Tower 12 Apartments, and the building has a gorgeous rooftop hangout area where you can see the WHOLE city! We hung out, enjoyed beer and food (what else would you expect?), and enjoyed the view! When the party was over, we weren't ready to go home, so we gathered up our friends and went to the Smith Tower. The Smith Tower is one of the original skyscrapers in Seattle. Up we went to the very top of the building, some 38 stories high to enjoy another great view and more drinks!

Saturday = WEDDING DAY! The day started with a walk around the city, and what would be a trip to Seattle without some RAIN! After lunch, we went back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding (because g-d for bid Sammi doesn't have 3 hours to get ready). After getting all dolled up and ready to go, we had an interesting Lyft ride to the venue, but we eventually made it (pheeeeeeeeeeeeeew)! The wedding ceremony was in a courtyard of an old medical facility, and boy did we luck out with the weather! After the ceremony was over, we went inside a building, up elevators, and into a beautiful room with windows from floor to ceiling, then had ANOTHER beautiful view! We danced and drank the night away! After the wedding, we continued the party by heading down to Capitol Hill (a super cool spot, the West Hollywood of Seattle) and went to Sam's Tavern. We met up with some people that were at the wedding, and enjoyed drinks and beer pong!

Sunday was George's birthday! We had a wonderful brunch at the Capital Grill (which was attached to our hotel)! After brunch, Dillon and I took the monorail to go see the Space Needle! We got our tickets and waited for our call time by going and getting a beer, as always. It was finally our turn to go to the top. We got in an elevator and up we went! The views were breathtaking, and the clear bottom turn table was thrilling! It felt like we were on top of the WORLD!!! On our walk back to the hotel, we stopped at a restaurant to get a snack and the restaurant was named #STAYPINEAPPLE (perfect for Sammi)!!! For dinner, we met up with Carol, George, Kate, and Ralph at Bizzaro Italian Cafe. We enjoyed carafes of wine and delicious Italian food to celebrate Georges birthday, but also a wonderful trip! Sadly, we had to say our goodbyes and head back to Cali the next day. Seattle, this isn't a goodbye, it's a see you later!
